America House Creates NewportOut.com For Gay and Lesbian Travelers

NEWPORT, R.I., — America House Communications, a full-service advertising agency in Newport, has created NewportOut.com, a Web site for gay and lesbian travelers interested in learning about and visiting Newport, an international city known for its fabled history and architecture, sailing legacy, and rugged natural beauty.

The stylish site provides information about accommodations, restaurants, attractions, and upcoming events as well as resources specific to the gay and lesbian community. Additional content is being developed for the site, such as a regular column about the Newport’s gay community, which exists but has been somewhat underground. America House will begin soliciting advertisers for the site soon.

“Newport Out will be a key resource for gays and lesbians in Rhode Island as well as for gay travelers who want to discover Newport,” said Stuart MacNaught, president of America House. “They are a major force in the travel market.”

Gay travelers in the United States alone represent a $54.1 billion market, an estimated 10 percent of the travel industry in this country.

In addition to Newport Out, America House has created Web sites for hundreds of organizations and companies including Heritage Passage, Fathom Research, Aquidneck Land Trust, and Cold Case Forum. To view Newport Out, simply visit NewportOut.com.
